Practice: Finding My “Deep Place”

Maybe write down Mary Oliver’s stanza, and read it several times a day, if it helps you believe that you have a place in the family of things, and don’t have to do anything at all to earn it.

Once this sinks in, other certainties often rise to the surface. They must be deeper than intellectual “beliefs,” and they must be deeper than Hopes or feelings. They are within us already, but must be re-appropriated by each individual in a mysteriously unique process.
