Practicing Gentleness

Practice gentleness, especially when you don’t feel gentle at all.

  • Set the table slowly.
  • Close the car‑door quietly.
  • Take deep breaths. Count them.
  • Brush your hair as though it were your lover’s.
  • Offer to brush your partner’s hair as though (s)he were going far away for a long time.

Some day, they will.
